Homeowners are encouraged to organize in groups with 5-15 of their immediate neighbors and develop a plan of action in the event of a disaster.
The City of LA has created RYLAN (Ready Your LA Neighborhood) to help homeowners organize themselves. RYLAN is a FREE program that gives homeowners the steps to take immediately after a disaster to help keep homeowners, their families, and their neighborhood safe. It provides the tools to prepare and organize your neighborhood to respond together in that first hour after a disaster to reduce injuries, protect your property and the environment, and most importantly, to save lives.
The RYLAN brochure can be found HERE. Please notify the SYRC Staff if you are willing to serve as a block coordinator for your immediate neighbors.
